ABOUT THE AUTHOR!
Louis Paul DeGrado is an author, songwriter, poet, playwright and bard who loves science fiction and going on adventures. A Gulf War Veteran and cancer Survivor, Louis has published seven novels including two juvenile series. He grew up in Pueblo, Colorado with an appreciation for nature and the beauty of the mountains and is fascinated by the ancient Native-American culture of the area. After a tour in the United States Army, Louis went to Colorado State University and achieved his MBA. The story-teller since the earliest age, Louis has four book of the year finalist awards, four Editor’s Choice Awards as well as Four Rising Star Designations. Favorite Music Group of all time: Journey! My Favorite Television shows of all time 1. MASH- combined drama and humor in a very successful way, and also exposed the tragedy of war. Favorite character- Hawkeye 2. Battlestar Galactica- The original. One of the few good sci-fi shows of it’s generation, it was a shame to see the series driven into the ground before it’s time. Favorite character- Apollo 3. X Files- most episodes are better than many movies. The appeal of this show is how they base so many of the stories off of real scientific possibilities, urban legends, and mysterious events. Favorite character- Fox Mulder 4. Firefly! Amazing storyline and Characters! 5. Psych! That includes all the quirky movies! The Musical is Classic! 6. Frasier/Cheers 7 Magnum PI-Original |

BOOK APPEARANCES
The first Slideshow is at Liberty Point, where I spoke to the kids about the force of Imagination, the importance of Reading and performed songs from "The Calling of the Protectors." My favorite elementary school teacher, Jodi Bond, was kind enough to host! The second slideshow is a few years before that at what was Pueblo West Elementary school!

We inherited the Earth and became the dominant species not because we are stronger than the elephant or bigger than the whale but due our intelligence. It is through this intelligence that we must understand our responsibility to not be takers, but caretakers. Is the world a better place because I am in it? It’s not ok to be the best at anything, unless you’re also being the best person you can be.
